Procedural Avatars
Sam Goto
This is an independent investigation on automatically generating compelling avatars from SHA256 (e.g. 1, 2) using triangula and Yingtao Tian's GAN's showcase.
The first picture is procedurally generated using this. The second picture is also procedurally generated using this triangulation algorithm.
Every time you reload the page, you get a new profile picture.
I really like the aesthetics of triangula: the resulting images are very pretty!
The GAN is 16MB so it takes a while to load. There is a bigger model, but it seemed like an overkill. The triangulation takes a while too, but leads to neat results.
The theory here is that we could make these invariant within the SHA256 space.
Cute, right?
